HP 564 vs 564XL Ink Cartridges

Comparing Hp 564 vs 564XL Value

HP 564 and 564XL are both good ink cartridges; however, the question is which one to purchase so that it can give you the best value for money? Here is a comparison of these two cartridges which can help you decide which one to buy.

Differences between HP 564 vs HP 564XL Black Ink Cartridges

The most important thing is to know how many pages can each cartridge yield. The HP 564 can yield up to 250 pages, 564XL has the capacity to yield up to 550. Both the models do not let their color bleed so the end product is high quality. Both cartridges use HP Vivera ink technology to provide exceptionally excellent results.

Whilst HP has great ink in these cartridges, in our experience so do most compatible ink cartridges and they usually only cost about one third of the price of the original cartridges.

Differences between HP 564 vs 564XL Cyan, Yellow & Magenta Ink Cartridges

HP 564 color can yield up to 300 pages, while HP 564XL color can yield 750 pages per cartridge. HP564 has got three cartridges of magenta, cyan and yellow in one pack from the official HP shop unlike HP564XL where all the three colors need to be ordered separately. Both HP 564 & HP 564XL offer a high quality print with vibrant and true to life colors.

HP564 can come with free photo paper along with envelopes which include 5 sheets each of 5”x 7” envelopes and photo paper. It also includes 20 photo papers of 10 in size 5”x 7” and 10 in size 4” x 6” if you select a pack with the photo paper. Though the paper in the packs will no doubt change over time or it may only be available al limited times.

These two cartridges have page yield differences but are compatible with the same printers. Both are capable to work on Deskjet, office jet, ink jet, photosmart pro, and one of the Toshiba models (e-Studio 455).

While both the ink cartridges support the same models there is a considerable difference in their price (all prices USD from official HP store). HP564 Black costs $13.99 vs HP 564XL Black costs $24.99 however remember the higher page yields as it is almost always the case that the higher capacity cartridge costs less per page printed.

Final Verdict:

Both of the printer cartridges are pretty good but which one should you buy? If there is office use then you may need a printer with ability to printer more pages, while home users who don’t print much can stick to cartridge with less capacity.
